New York, NY – Today FlyQuest Sports, an esports organization owned by Fortress Investment Group co-founder and Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wes Edens, announced the acquisition of Ambition Esports’ Rocket League roster, consisting of Ronin “Prime Thunder” D’Auria, Nicholas “Wonder” Blackerby, and Austin “Ayyjayy” Aebi.
“We at FlyQuest are committed to the competitive Rocket League scene and have high hopes for the development and future of this community” said General Manager, Nick Phan. “We are pleased to announce that we will be taking a new direction in 2018 with members of the former Rocket League team, Ambition Gaming, in Prime Thunder and Wonder, as well as newly signed rookie Ayyjayy. Though young, these boys have so much potential, and I'm excited to work with these individuals as we move alongside them through 2018. We intend to approach our involvement in Rocket League with a more hands on goal for development and sustainable growth and success; for that reason, I'm excited to announce that we will be partnering with former Ambition Gaming CEO, Ryan Staton (Wesker) to join us in driving this vision as the Rocket League team manager. Our goals for this team, extend past the RLRS and the RLCS. We hope that you, the fans, are just as excited as we are, to usher in our new teammates as we build something that can hopefully lay the foundation for a bright future.”
“Our current RLCS players, CorruptedG, SadJunior and Chrome will be moving on from FlyQuest and we thank them for their hard work and for being apart of the FlyQuest family. We wish them the best of luck in the future” continued General manager, Phan.
Prime Thunder and the rest of the squad performed well in S5 of the RLRS, finishing fourth. “We are extremely excited for the opportunity to represent FlyQuest at all Rocket League events for 2018 and beyond with Wonder, Ayyjayy and Wesker.” said Prime Thunder. “FlyQuest has established themselves as a passionate organization in the space throughout 2017. With their brand and guidance, we are ready to breakthrough in 2018. Although I am excited for the upcoming RLRS season, we have our eyes set on the RLCS, and we won’t stop until we get there. I am very confident that we will succeed in proving to ourselves and others what we're capable of.”
